The updated and integrated system will allow you to apply for accommodations for one or both exams. You can log in to the new MCAT/PREview accommodations application system beginning Thursday, Oct. 10.
Important dates:
To prepare for the launch of the updated and integrated system, the current MCAT and PREview accommodations request processes will be temporarily unavailable.
- The current PREview accommodations application process will be closed as of Thursday, Sept. 12 to move to the new system.
- The current MCAT accommodations application system will be unavailable from Monday, Oct. 7 through Wednesday, Oct. 9.
- The updated and integrated MCAT/PREview accommodations application system will go live the morning of Thursday, Oct. 10.
- Please note, if you had planned on testing in 2024, all 2024 testing year accommodations applications should have been submitted by August 1.
What this means for you:
You may be wondering how this update will affect your current or previous applications.
- This update will have no impact on MCAT and PREview applications that are currently in progress. Review timeframes and determination deadlines will be honored.
- If you previously applied for accommodations for one of the exams, you will now be able to request accommodations for the other exam within the system.
- If you have never applied for accommodations for either exam, you can save time by applying for both exams at the same time.
- If you aren’t ready to apply for both exams at the same time, you can go back into the system and submit an application for the other exam at a later time.
Keep in mind:
Your approved accommodations for one program do not automatically apply and/or transfer to the other program. The differences in content, format, and delivery across the two exams impact what accommodations may be needed.
System features:
For both MCAT and PREview accommodations applications, you will be able to do the following:
- See the application type, status, submission date, and decision due date for new applications.
- Withdraw and edit an in-progress application and create a new application.
- Upload the supporting documentation in different formats (PDF, PNG, JPEG, JPG, TXT).
- View and print documentation uploaded in the system.
- Submit accommodations-related services requests.

FAQs
I previously applied for PREview accommodations. Will my information be in the new system when it opens?
Some of your information will be accessible in the new system when it opens. You will be able to see your PREview accommodations application history. If you have questions about information related to your prior application that is not accessible in the new system, please email accommodations@aamc.org for assistance.
I don’t know if I need to take the PREview exam yet. What do I do in the system when I’m applying for MCAT accommodations?
We recommend you consider requesting accommodations for both exams at the same time as this will save you time and additional steps later. However, if you aren’t ready to apply to both exams at the same time, you can submit an application for one exam now and then go back into the system and submit an application for the other exam at a later time. Keep in mind, if you have an active application open for one exam and decide you want to add a request for the other exam, this must be done within a specified window of time (30 days for an initial application and 15 days for a non-initial application). Please reach out to accommodations@aamc.org for assistance. If that window of time passes, you can submit your request for the other exam once you receive a determination on the first application.
I already submitted my MCAT accommodations application for review. Can I go back into the system to apply for PREview accommodations?
The updated system does allow you to add a request for one program after you have submitted an application for the other program. If your application for the first program is currently in progress, you have a specified window of time during which you can add your request for the other exam (30 days for an initial application and 15 days for a non-initial application). If that window of time has passed, you can submit your request for the other exam once you receive a determination on the first application.
I already submitted my MCAT accommodations application and am waiting for a decision. What will happen with my application?
Any MCAT accommodations applications that are in progress when the system is updated will not be impacted. The update will not affect review timeframes, and all determination deadlines will be honored. All previous MCAT accommodations applications and determinations will also continue to be accessible in the updated/integrated system.
I already have approved MCAT accommodations. Can’t they just be transferred to my PREview exam?
Accommodations are not automatically transferred, if approved for one exam when applying for the other exam. Given the differences in exam format, platform, testing environments, and the unique nature of each exam, reviews for each exam must be conducted when determining accommodations needs for each. However, upon review, the team may determine that previously approved MCAT accommodations may be applicable to the PREview exam. Additionally, if you have a current approval for MCAT accommodations, your review time for PREview accommodations is shorter (30 days). Please refer to Review Cycles & Important Dates to determine the date by which you submit your application.
