Scheduling your exam with approved accommodations is a 2-step process. Pearson VUE staff provides personalized service to help you schedule your appointment after your accommodations have been approved by the MCAT® Accommodations team.

Start by reviewing application deadlines! Before you schedule your exam, review the deadlines and review cycles for applications in consideration of when you want to test.  It can take up to 60 days for review of your application and 30 days for reconsiderations, appeals, and extensions. Your accommodations must be approved at least 15 days before your exam, and you must have a scheduling request submitted to Pearson VUE. Submit your application early.

2-Step Scheduling Process

Step #1: Fill out your registration information: Sign into the MCAT Registration System and complete the Registration tabs; Personal Info, Biographic Info, Background, Terms, and Release of Personal Information. You can do this before you submit your application and receive your determination letter.

Step #2: Once your accommodations are approved, call Pearson VUE no less than 15 days prior to your desired testing date to schedule your exam. Call Pearson VUE to complete the scheduling process. You’ll work one-on-one with their scheduling team to find a date and time to test with your approved accommodations.

Tip!

  • You do have the option to schedule a standard exam online in the MCAT Registration System before you contact Pearson VUE. Keep in mind that if you schedule a standard appointment online, it is not guaranteed that the selected appointment will be able to support delivery of your approved accommodations. Pearson VUE may need to change your appointment location or exam date to provide all your approved accommodations.

Tip!

  • Remember only the AAMC can approve accommodations for the MCAT exam. Pearson VUE is not involved in the application review process and cannot provide any information regarding your application status or make additions to previously approved accommodations. Questions should be directed to accommodations@aamc.org.

Cancellations and Rescheduling
Once your exam has been scheduled with your approved accommodations, you will not be able to cancel or reschedule your exam online. If you wish to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please contact Pearson VUE. All standard MCAT scheduling deadlines and fees will apply unless you have been approved for AAMC Fee Assistance.

Testing Over Two Days
Due to the length of the standard MCAT exam, all examinees approved for extended exam time will test over two, consecutive days. Other accommodations may also require testing over multiple days; your approval letter will specify if this is necessary.

Exams administered over two days will be scheduled on pre-determined, consecutive days, with two sections administered per day. The order of the test sections will be the same as standard test administrations.

Tip!

  • If you want to schedule a standard appointment online, you can only select one date. The Pearson VUE accommodations team will adjust the dates as needed.
