Scheduling your exam with approved accommodations is a 2-step process. Pearson VUE staff provides personalized service to help you schedule your appointment after your accommodations have been approved by the MCAT® Accommodations team.
Start by reviewing application submission dates! Your accommodations must be approved and you must have a scheduling request submitted to Pearson VUE at least 15 days before your exam. Submit your application early.
2-Step Scheduling Process
Step #1: Fill out your registration information:
- Sign into the MCAT Registration System and complete the Registration tabs; Personal Info, Biographic Info, Background, Terms, and Release of Personal Information. You can do this before you submit your application and receive your determination letter.
Step #2: Contact Pearson VUE
- You must be approved for accommodations before calling to schedule with accommodations.
- You must call Pearson VUE no less than fifteen (15) days prior to your desired testing date to schedule your exam with accommodations.
- 1-800-466-0450, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. CT (excluding holidays).
- Please do not contact local test centers for accommodations scheduling information.
Scheduling a Standard Exam Prior to Receiving Accommodations
You have the option to schedule a standard exam online in the MCAT Registration System before you contact Pearson VUE. Keep in mind that if you schedule a standard appointment online, it is not guaranteed that the selected appointment will be able to support the delivery of approved accommodations. Pearson VUE may need to change your appointment location or exam date to provide all your approved accommodations.
Placeholder Exams
Pearson VUE may ask if you’d like to schedule a placeholder exam. A placeholder exam is meant to ease the scheduling process by collecting payment in advance of scheduling. However, a placeholder exam is a standard exam and is subject to all fees, deadlines, and availability. It does not guarantee availability on your desired exam date. You have the option to decline scheduling of a placeholder exam in favor of providing payment once availability has been located.
Cancellations and Rescheduling
Once your exam has been scheduled with your approved accommodations, you will not be able to cancel or reschedule your exam online. If you wish to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please contact Pearson VUE. All standard MCAT scheduling deadlines and fees will apply unless you have been approved for AAMC Fee Assistance.
