How to Support Your Student

Parents and caregivers play an important role in helping students explore interests and build confidence. You don’t need to have a background in health care to support your student’s learning.

What You Can Do

  • Ask about what they’re learning. Invite your student to explain a skill or activity in their own words.

  • Encourage reflection. Talk about how these skills show up at home, in school, or in the community.

  • Normalize exploration. Remind students that it’s OK not to have all the answers about the future.

  • Celebrate effort and growth. Focus on skill development rather than performance alone.

  • Support goal setting. Help your student identify small, realistic goals connected to the skills they’re practicing.

Many activities are designed to spark conversations beyond the classroom. Your engagement reinforces that learning continues in everyday settings.
