Review Cycles and Important Dates

Most Initial requests for accommodations will be reviewed within 60 days of submission. The review cycle for Reconsiderations, Appeals, and Extensions may take up to 30 days.

For incomplete applications that are subsequently re-submitted, the review cycle will restart as noted above. Please be mindful of the application requirements associated with your request so that you do not prolong the review process, as this may prevent you from testing on your preferred test date with accommodations. Applications are reviewed in the order they are received and cannot be expedited.

You must be approved for accommodations no later than the Silver Zone Deadline associated with your test date (see MCAT Essentials) to allow time for us to prepare and implement any approved accommodations. If your accommodations are not approved by the Silver Zone deadline, you may still test under standard conditions. As a reminder, you have until the Silver Zone deadline to reschedule an exam in accordance with standard scheduling policies. If you receive an approval after the Silver Zone Deadline associated with your scheduled exam, your accommodations can be made available for exams associated with subsequent Silver Zone Deadlines. Rescheduling fees apply.

Review of mailed-in applications will not begin until your package has been received by the MCAT Accommodation Services Unit. Please allow additional time for in-house mail processing.

In order to receive a determination in time for your preferred exam date, please submit your application by the submission date associated with the appropriate review cycle.
