AAMC SJT Participating Medical Schools

These U.S. Medical Schools are participating in 2021 AAMC SJT Administration.

New section

The U.S. medical schools listed below are working with the AAMC to evaluate the AAMC SJT exam in its second year administration. The exam is open only to applicants to these schools for the AMCAS 2022 cycle, and each school has determined their requirement of the exam. If scores are ultimately shown to enhance the schools’ holistic review process, the schools may consider them as one part of their admission decisions.

Morehouse School of Medicine Required
University of Alabama - Birmingham School of Medicine Required (Regular MD program only)*
University of Minnesota School of Medicine - Twin Cities campus Strongly Recommended
University of California Davis School of Medicine Strongly Recommended
Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences Strongly Recommended

* Applicants who wish to be considered for Advanced Standing, Transfer, Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP), Rural, and the Early Medical School Acceptance Program (EMSAP) are not required to take the SJT but are highly encouraged to include the SJT with their application materials.
