About This Graphic

This infographic consists of nine boxes showing each step of the study and practice cycle in its own box. Between each step there is an arrow, first three in a row across the page to the right, then down, then three to the left, then down, then three to the right.

The text in the boxes is:

  1. Learn for the first time or quickly review a topic area to refresh your memory.
  2. Test your knowledge with a short set of practice questions.
  3. Review your answers and learn from your mistakes by explaining why an answer choice is correct or incorrect.
  4. Review concepts and facts in your areas of weakness.
  5. After your review, practice active learning by summarizing the content from memory.
  6. Practice applying your learning by answering more questions in the same topic area.
  7. Complete a cumulative set of practice questions on all topics studied so far.
  8. Fight the forgetting curve by revisiting the material from previous days.
  9. Do it all over again with a new topic.
