Relevant information provided by each medical school can include:

- Sponsoring department
- Course description
- Start and end dates
- Required qualifications and prerequisites
- Application deadline, fees, and other registration information and contacts
- Housing and type information
- Course director to contact for further information about the course
It is the prerogative of the student's home institution to accept (or not accept) course credit in fulfillment of educational requirements for the MD degree. Therefore, medical schools, departments, and course directors are strongly encouraged to communicate closely with the home institution of any medical student seeking enrollment in a course.
