Program Information
Program Name: U.S. Navy Health Professions Scholarship Program

Program Description: The Health Professions Loan Repayment Program (HPLRP) provides an incentive to new accessions to enter the Navy, and current active duty medical personnel to extend their active duty commitment through the payment of professional educational loans.
Eligible Specialties: Medicine, Dentistry, Optometry, Clinical Psychology, Nursing.
Service Requirements: Serve 45 days of active duty in a Navy clerkship or under school orders during each year in the program. Serve one year of active duty in a non-training status for each year of scholarship participation, with a minimum of three years on active duty.
Deadline/Application Cycle: Applications are accepted throughout the year at any time. However, the best time to apply for a four-year scholarship is the Fall before the year you plan to attend school. 
Amount: US Navy HPSP can provide tuition assistance for up to four years of school and provide you with a monthly stipend paid directly to you of $2,200. $20,000 signing bonus (Medicine and Dentistry only).
Additional Information: Upon completion of professional school, the individual must accept assignment on active duty in the Navy.
