Program Information
Program Name: Scholars for a Healthy Oregon
Program Type: Loan Forgiveness

Program Description: Designed with both the student and Oregon workforce in mind, SHOI provides eligible students with a unique opportunity to help address healthcare disparity in the state.
Eligible Specialties: Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
Service Requirements: Funding recipients agree to practice as a healthcare practitioner in a rural or underserved community in Oregon for a minimum of one year longer than the total years of funding received. 
Deadline/Application Cycle: For students matriculating into their program of study in Academic Year 2025-2026, see website for the 2025-2026 application.
Amount: SHOI funding provides full tuition and applicable fees for a limited number of eligible students entering specific clinical degree programs at OHSU.
