Program Information
Program Name: NHSC Scholarship Program
Program Type: Scholarship
Program State or Other: National Health Service Corps
Program Funding Source: Federal
Program Description: Students pursuing a career in primary health care are eligible to receive funding for their education in exchange for practicing in rural, urban, and tribal communities with limited access to care, upon graduation and licensure.
Eligible Specialties: Physician: MD or DO, Dentist: DDS or DMD, Nurse Practitioner, Certified Nurse-Midwife, Physician Assistant.
Service Requirements: Commitment to work at least 2 years at an NHSC-approved site in a medically underserved community.
Deadline/Application Cycle: The 2024 Scholarship Program Application is closed.
Amount: The NHSC SP pays for educational expenses and also provides a monthly stipend for living expenses in exchange for a minimum of two (2) years of full-time service at an NHSC-approved site in a health professional shortage area (HPSA) of greatest need.
