Program Name: Health Professions Loan Assistance Program

Program Description: Wisconsin health care professionals practicing in an outpatient setting in a federally designated shortage area (HPSA), can receive up to $50,000 in education loan assistance through the Health Professions Loan Assistance Program (HPLAP)
Eligible Specialties: Physicians, Psychiatrists, Dentists, Dental Hygienists, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners and Certified Nurse Midwives.
Service Requirements: Providers must work full time in a federally designated Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA).
Deadline/Application Cycle: The Loan Assistance Program application period is now closed and will re-open in May 2025. 
Amount: Up to $50,000 in education loan assistance through the Health Professions Loan Assistance Program (HPLAP).
