| Program Description: Health Professional Loan Repayment Program (HPLRP) provides loan repayment to eligible health professionals practicing full-time and part-time at HPLRP-certified sites in health professional shortage and medically underserved areas (HPSAs and MUAs) in DC. |
| Eligible Specialties: Primary care physicians (MD/DO) who have completed post-graduate training; Dentists (DDS/DMD) practicing in general or pediatric dentistry; Other eligible professions include DC licensed CNM, NP, PA, RDH, LCSW, HSP, CP, NP, PNS and LPC. |
| Service Requirements: Practice full-time (40 hours/week) or part-time (20 hours/week) for a minimum of two years at a certified HPLRP site in DC. |
| Deadline/Application Cycle: The Health Professional Loan Repayment Program has two cycle openings this Fiscal Year during the months of September and April. |
| Amount: Loan repayment up to $165,040.64 for full-time physicians and dentists repaid by the Program over 4 years or $82,520.32 for part-time; Other eligible providers can receive $90,770.07 repaid by the Program over four years of contracted service or $45,385.04 for part-time service. |
