MedLoans® Organizer and Calculator (MLOC)

The MedLoans® Organizer and Calculator was developed to assist medical students and residents with managing their education debt. The MLOC provides a secure location to organize and track student loans while also displaying possible repayment plans and costs based on the borrower’s student loan debt.

Who Can Use It

You have full access to MLOC if you are an enrolled medical school student, a medical school graduate, or a medical school administrator at an AAMC-member medical school. All eligible users have free premium access, which includes the ability to upload your federal loans from the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS), run repayment scenarios, and save your loan repayment options. To access MLOC, sign into your account with your AAMC username and password.

Non-premium users have limited functionality and are not able to upload their NSLDS file or save their repayment information. A visitor can choose to upgrade to premium access by paying $9.99. This will provide premium access for a total of four years. Purchase premium access

Please note: If you are a dental student or graduate see the Dental Loan Organizer and Calculator (DLOC).

Steps for Getting Started

First, you will want to upload your student loan information from the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) into the Organizer. Go to https://nslds.ed.gov/ to export and save your NSLDS file to your computer. Then, sign into the MLOC and upload your NSLDS file. If you have institutional or private loans, you will want to add those loans manually. To see a demo of how to upload your NSLDS file and to learn more about the functionality of the MLOC, watch the MLOC demo. If you need assistance with logging into the MLOC, contact Denine Hales at dhales@aamc.org. Please DO NOT create another AAMC account.

Benefits of the MLOC

  • Allows borrowers to enter and upload, track, store, and run repayment scenarios.
  • Provides a better understanding of student loan debt and the cost of repayment.
  • Borrowers who are married to another MD, and borrowers who are married to non-MD’s can run repayment scenarios to see total household repayment information.
