A growing number of U.S. schools have adopted the AAMC PREview® professional readiness exam into their admissions processes to enhance holistic review of applications.
Below is a confirmed list of participating schools for the 2025 PREview testing year (2026 medical school application year).
Requiring PREview: You may submit your application when you are ready, however, schools may not consider your application complete until they have received a PREview score.
Recommending PREview: You may submit your application with or without a PREview score.
Requiring a Situational Judgement Test (The PREview Score Will Satisfy this Requirement): You may submit your AMCAS application when you are ready, however, the schools may not consider your application complete until they have received a score. A PREview score will satisfy this requirement.
Exploring PREview for Future Use: If you apply to any medical schools not currently requiring or recommending the PREview exam, the schools may elect to view PREview scores as they explore the exam for future use. They will not use PREview scores to evaluate applications for this year. They will instead use scores this year only to evaluate if and how they may incorporate the PREview exam into their holistic review of applications in a future admissions cycle.
If you are applying to a program other than the program(s) listed, please check directly with the school or in AMCAS to determine whether the program you are applying to is participating.
The AAMC is committed to providing all individuals with an opportunity to demonstrate their proficiency on the AAMC PREview® exam. This includes ensuring access to persons with disabilities in accordance with relevant law.
