The AAMC continues to monitor guidance about the coronavirus from the CDC and WHO and we are modifying our operations as needed to best support the medical school community during this rapidly changing situation. We are monitoring the situation to determine the appropriate adjustments to best accommodate our Fee Assistance Program applicants. Below please find answers to some of our common questions.
Attention: AAMC Fee Assistance Program-provided MCAT Official Prep Product access extended for students impacted by coronavirus in 2020
The AAMC will extend the expiration date of your AAMC Fee Assistance Program-provided MCAT Official Prep products to September 30, 2021 (the end of the 2021 MCAT testing year) in case you were unable to test last year or wish to test again this year.
The AAMC extended the expiration date for AAMC Fee Assistance Program-provided MCAT Official Prep products to all those whose access expired December 31, 2020, because the benefit is once in a lifetime.
Please note that examinees do not need to have registered for an exam date or have a canceled exam date in the testing year 2020 or 2021. The AAMC has identified AAMC Fee Assistance Program recipients who qualify for extensions and purchased products after their award benefits expired. AAMC will directly contact these students to process refunds and adjust product expiration dates.
This extension only applies to the MCAT Official Prep AAMC Fee Assistance Program benefit. All other AAMC Fee Assistance Program benefits continue to follow standard expiration guidelines unless there are communications from the AAMC indicating otherwise. You may submit an AAMC 2021 Fee Assistance Program Application if you believe you are eligible.
