Eligibility

You are only eligible to receive the ERAS application discount if:

  • You were previously approved for the AAMC Fee Assistance Program as a medical school applicant, and
  • You are applying to residency programs through the ERAS application.

Important: To ensure your discount is applied, you must use the same AAMC ID associated with your original Fee Assistance Program approval. Do not create a new AAMC account. Using a different ID may prevent your benefit from appearing in the ERAS application.

Medical students are not eligible to apply for the Fee Assistance Program. Eligibility is limited to individuals who received approval before entering medical school.

What the Discount Includes

Eligible applicants will receive:

  • A 60% discount on up to 50 ERAS residency applications.
  • The discount is applied automatically in the MyERAS system when submitting applications.

No additional steps are required. If you are eligible, the reduced fees will appear when you select and submit your residency programs.

How to Verify Your Discount

Log in to the MyERAS application using the same AAMC ID you used when you were approved for the Fee Assistance Program. You will see the status “Fee Assistance: Yes” on your MyERAS dashboard, and the reduced fee will be applied automatically when you submit your application.

If you see the status “Fee Assistance: No” and believe you are eligible, please confirm you are using the correct AAMC ID. If you still need assistance, please contact the AAMC Support Center.
