Visiting Student Learning Opportunities
The AAMC Visiting Student Learning Opportunities™ (VSLO®) program enables medical and public health students to pursue short-term learning opportunities in locations away from their home institutions. Program participants include medical and public health students and institutions in the U.S. and around the globe.
National Resident Matching Program® (NRMP®)
The National Resident Matching Program® (NRMP®), or The Match®, is a private, non-profit organization established in 1952 at the request of medical students to provide an orderly and fair mechanism for matching the preferences of applicants for U.S. residency positions with the preferences of residency program directors.

The Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada (AFMC)
The AFMC Student Portal is a bilingual information hub and centralized application service for visiting electives for all Canadian faculties of medicine. Services are offered for Canadian and international undergraduate medical students.
State Authorization (SARA)
State authorization laws are constantly changing, and many states have exemptions for clinical rotations. The AAMC has put together these resources about state authorization and the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) to help institutions and students understand these issues.
Urology Residency Match Program
For more than 35 years, the AUA in conjunction with the Society of Academic Urologists has overseen the Urology Residency Match Program (a.k.a. Urology Match) for residency positions. Annually, the Urology Residency Match consists of approximately 450 highly competitive applicants that apply for nearly 325 positions that are virtually filled. The AUA has also expanded its services to fellowship matches, including pediatrics, urologic oncology, andrology, endourology and male reconstruction.
AAMC Standardized Immunization Form
This form may be adopted for use by any institution which hosts visiting students, regardless if the institution receives applications through the AAMC’s Visiting Student Learning Opportunities (VSLO). If additional requirements are needed, beyond what the AAMC Standardized Immunization Form collects, a host institution should provide supplemental information outlining the additional requirements.
AAMC Uniform Clinical Training Affiliation Agreement
At its June 2014 meeting, the Liaison Committee on Medical Education endorsed the AAMC Uniform Clinical Training Affiliation Agreement as meeting its accreditation standards. The endorsement caps a process of outreach spanning several years to reduce the need to negotiate and re-negotiate agreements for short-term, supervised training experiences that represent relatively low risk to all involved.
