How do I grant authorizations to students?

Authorizations are essential for students to be able to submit applications through VSAS. Students may not access VSAS until at least one authorization has been granted by their home school. If it is not clear which school staff can issue authorizations, we recommend starting with the office or person who assists with 4th year schedules (e.g., student affairs office/visiting student coordinator).

Any student at a medical school, including those marked inactive, may be issued authorizations to use VSAS. To locate these students a filter will need to be used on the Issue Authorizations screen. Select the "inactive" option from the "Year" drop down menu before clicking the "Filter" button.
