Who is Eligible to Request an Accommodation?
If you have a disability or medical condition that requires an adjustment to standard video interview conditions, please submit a Standardized Video Interview: Accommodations Request Form to email@example.com. The AAMC will begin to process accommodation requests on May 1, 2019.
Applying for an Accommodation
We will begin to process accommodation requests on May 1, 2019.
Your accommodations request must be accompanied by documentation that sufficiently demonstrates your need for the accommodation requested. Such documentation may include an evaluation from a healthcare provider or official documentation or prior accommodations provided by your medical school or the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE). All documentation must be in English. Please feel free to contact the AAMC regarding what type of documentation you should submit.
You should request an accommodation as soon as possible (at least 30 days before you plan to take the interview) to increase the likelihood of interviewing during the Interview Window or before the deadline of Sept. 16, 2019, at 11:59 p.m. ET if you are granted an extension.
Before you apply for an accommodation:
- Understand how our review process works
- Review pertinent deadlines
- Collect documentation of your impairment
Accommodations Review Process
The AAMC will notify you via email with a decision. If your request is approved, follow the instructions provided with your approval email to avoid delays in confirming your accommodations. If your request is not approved, your initial registration for the interview remains valid, and you may interview under standard conditions.
