Why are the AAMC and three specialties offering a supplemental ERAS application? When will it be available? How will residency programs use the new information? Check out the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to learn more.
How do applicants prepare?
The AAMC will release questions from the Geographic Information and Past Experience sections as part of the Supplemental ERAS Application Guide. As with the MyERAS application, applicants will have an opportunity to review these application questions in advance.
How will AAMC reduce stress on applicants?
We acknowledge how stressful the residency application process is for students. We hope that giving applicants an opportunity to show more of themselves and their medical education journey will help balance some of the stress associated with a new component of the application. To reduce some of the stress applicants may feel about this new tool, we will be hosting webinars in August. We will also release the questions from the Geographic Information and Past Experience sections as part of the Supplemental ERAS Application Guide so applicants can prepare in advance -- just as they do with the MyERAS application.
